A native of Jackson, Tennessee, Marco received his M.A. in Liberal Studies in 2013 and Post-Baccalaureate certificate in African American Studies in 2014 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has a certificate in Effective College Instruction from the Association of College and University Educators and the American Council on Education. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in biology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2003 and Africana Studies in 2011 from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte as well as an A.A.S. degree in baking & pastry arts from Central Piedmont Community College in 2010.  Marco enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, stamp collecting, genealogy, and spending time with his miniature schnauzer Max. Marco currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and teaches African American studies courses remotely.
