Student Health Center Hosts Seminar on Endometriosis

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University’s Student Health Center will host a Women’s Health Awareness Seminar from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 6, in Student Union Meeting Room 2. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.

The seminar will feature Dr. Roy Swindle from Southern OB/GYN in Valdosta. He will discuss the signs, symptoms, and treatments of endometriosis, a painful disorder during which tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of the uterus.

“March is National Endometriosis Awareness Month and we want to make sure that our students are informed about their health,” said Lynette Lewis, assistant director of the Student Health Center.

The mission of the Student Health Center is to provide optimum health care in a convenient location for undergraduate and graduate students in a compassionate, confidential manner.

The Student Health Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.
