Faculty and Staff
The Center for eLearning provides support, training, and instructional design services for faculty teaching in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses using BlazeVIEW or GoVIEW. The Center provides administrative support and assistance to faculty in USG collaborative initiatives including: the collaborative graduate Education programs and eCore® delivered via INGRESS and GoVIEW. In addition to support, Center staff provide professional development opportunities for faculty and administrators, facilitate web- and video-conferencing for academic and administrative purposes, and offer instructional design consultation and reviews of online and hybrid courses based on Quality Matters national standards for distance learning.

GoVIEW is the University System of Georgia collaborative online course system, and is a complement to BlazeVIEW D2L, the online course system at Valdosta State University. Since GoVIEW is operated as a collaborative, you may be enrolled in course sections along with students from other institutions in the University System of Georgia. As an online student at VSU, you may be taking some online courses that are hosted on GoVIEW, and others that are hosted on BlazeVIEW depending on your online degree major and your level of progress in the program.
Qualtrics is VSU’s new survey tool available to administrators, faculty, staff and students. Qualtrics is a powerful product which facilitates survey creation, distribution, and data monitoring/collection.
eCore® is short for electronic core-curriculum and allows University System of Georgia (USG) students the opportunity to complete their first two years of their collegiate careers in an online environment. eCore® courses are taught entirely online, except for the occasional proctored exam. eCore® courses are designed, developed, taught and supported by faculty and staff from the USG.

Quality Matters (QM)™ is a course review process that is currently being established at Valdosta State University. It allows for the continuous improvement of online and hybrid courses. It was developed by a MarylandOnline grant project with the Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) and has been adopted by hundreds of higher education institutions across forty-two states, Canada, Bermuda and Australia. Courses that have been taught for at least one semesters are eligible for QM review. The goals of the program are to increase student retention, learning and satisfaction in online courses by implementing better course design.
The College of Education purchased an institution-wide membership to the Online Learning Consortium. The Online Learning Consortium offers outstanding resources, networking opportunities, conferences, and additional development opportunities for its members. As an Online Learning Consortium member, VSU faculty and staff can now take advantage of many of these resources for free or at a reduced cost.
