Our faculty and staff will build a lasting relationship with you and tailor your curriculum to ensure that your aspirations will be achieved. At Orientation, you’ll set up your class schedule and receive a crash course in all things VSU. Here, you’ll be introduced to the Centralized Advising team, as well as other on-campus partners that will guide you along your educational journey. FIRST YEAR LEARNING COMMUNITIES Through FLCs, you’ll have an opportunity to join 22-25 first semester students who share your similar interests in two to three linked classes. FLCs will ease the transition from high school to college and allow you to gain vital educational and social skills in an integrated learning environment. CENTRALIZED ADVISING Centralized Advising will provide first-year students who have earned less than 30 semester
hours with exceptional academic guidance. It is a collaborative effort from the advising team, First Year Programs, and on-campus partners such as Career Opportunities and the Student Success Center. STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER Our Student Success Center will be available throughout your college career at VSU to enhance your success through various tutoring options, workshops, supplemental instruction sessions, and even employment opportunities.
