Welcome to the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) Advising Center in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. We are located on North Campus on the 3rd floor of Thaxton Hall. 

The CONHS Advising Center provides academic advising and support for all undergraduate students in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences including exercise physiology, dental hygiene, athletic training, health sciences, and nursing majors.

Advising Appointment

To schedule an advising appointment, use the Advising Appointment Scheduler. Please follow the steps below.

How to Schedule an Appointment 

  • Sign into your MyVSU with your VSU email and password
  • Go to the bottom right side of your page titled "Portals" and click on “View All”
  • Click on "Advising Appointment Scheduler"
  • Follow the instructions to register for an account
  • Once you sign in, select "Nursing and Health Science Advising Center" from the drop down menu
  • Look for the name of your advisor 

 You will see two rows for each day:

 Appointments – the white spaces means those times are available for appointments. Click on the white box to create an appointment.

 Walk-ins – The white boxes represent walk-in hours. You cannot make an appointment during walk-in hours, just come by our office (RM 4002) on the fourth floor of the Health Sciences and Business Administration Building on North Campus.

 For walk-in advising, go to room 4002C in the Health Sciences and Business Administration Building. Walk-in advising hours for the fall 2018 semester  are listed below. 

  • Monday 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Tuesday 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Wednesday 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Thursday 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Friday 9:00pm - 2pm

Q: How many course credit hours must a dental hygiene student take at VSU to meet the residency requirement?

A: A minimum of 21 credit hours

 

Q: Is an appointment required for a student to meet with an academic advisor in the CONHS Advising Center?

A: An appointment is not required for walk-ins. However, if the students wants to meet with their assigned academic advisor, an appointment is required unless it is during that advisor’s walk-in times.

 

Q: I am an active duty military individual interested in the nursing program. Are there special admission requirements for me?

A: No, military applicants must meet the same admission requirements as other applicants. However, 10% of seats are reserved for military applicants in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Marines. 

Q: How do I register for the HESI exam?

A: To register for the TEAS or HESI exam at VSU, call the Office of Testing at (229)-245-3878) or visit the website linked below and select the option to make an appointment through RegisterBlast.  https://www.valdosta.edu/academics/services/testing/
