The Department of Political Science and the Working Group on Conflict and Security at Valdosta State University will host “25 Years Later: The 9/11 Attacks Then and Now” from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in Converse Hall Auditorium. This event is open to the public.

Florida Theatre Major Thriving at VSU, Credits Faculty and Greek Life
Cooper planned to attend an in-state university and play soccer, but he fell in love with performing on stage. When he asked his high school teacher to recommend a school with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre, she told him about VSU.

VSU’s Economic Impact Climbs to $412.5 Million, Supports More Than 3,400 Jobs
Valdosta State University generated an estimated $412.5 million in total economic impact during Fiscal Year 2025, according to a new study conducted by the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. This represents a $27.3 million increase over the previous year and includes the creation of 3,472 jobs both on and off campus.

Advanced degrees boost those earnings even more.

VSU Planetarium Presents August Skies, Eclipses, Meteor Showers Aug. 27
The Valdosta State University Planetarium presents “August Skies, Eclipses, and Meteor Showers: Oh My!” at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27. Seating for each presentation is limited. Free admission ticket distribution begins as early as 5:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis at the VSU Planetarium.
