Spring 2026 virtual parking permits are available for purchase (your state-issued license plate will be your permit– no physical permits will be issued).  Do not back-in or pull through, as the License Plate Recognition Vehicles will not be able to scan the tags.  Should you back-in or pull through, you will receive a citation.

To remove or edit vehicles linked to your permit/account, email parking@valdosta.edu (provide make, model, year, and tag number associated with the specific vehicle that needs to be removed).  An end relationship date can also be placed on the customer’s account by Parking.

LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION (LPR)

As of June 2022, Valdosta State University ceased issuing physical (paper) citations for all properly registered vehicles; customers will receive email notifications ONLY if a parking citation is issued. Please note, however, that physical parking citations are placed on vehicles that are not registered in the VSU parking system.  Additionally, University Police will issue physical parking citations accordingly.

Customers are allowed to register up to three (3) vehicles with one virtual permit; however, only one (1) vehicle can be on campus at a time.  If more than one vehicle is found to be on-campus at the same time, a citation will be issued for "shared permit." Violators will be cited within two hours of scanning the first vehicle. Customers have the ability to add a vehicle to their permit/account through the Parking Customer Portal, if three vehicles are not already linked.

If you have any questions, please contact the Parking Department at the email address listed above or call (229)293-7275.  Thank you!
