Dr. F. Tirrell Andrews is an educator who teaches race, class, gender, and sexuality, social problems, social psychology, human sexuality, masculinity studies, medical sociology, African Americans and mental health. Dr. Andrews received his Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Valdosta State University, his Master of Science in Family Sociology and his Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University. Dr. Andrews completed his Doctor of Education in Child, Youth, and Family Studies from Nova Southeastern University. His scholarly attention focuses on race and discrimination, sexism, domestic violence, substance abuse, sociology of education, military families and medical sociology. Dr. Andrews is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and is certified in a number of areas which include: domestic violence, substance abuse, anger management, and active parenting. Dr. Andrews is in private clinical practice at Peaceway Counseling and Mediation Services. Dr. Andrews is married and enjoys spending time exercising, traveling, learning, attending sporting events (football, basketball, etc.). Dr. Andrews is a huge supporter of Valdosta State University athletics. He was a former VSU football player from 1993-1996.
