About this field
This program provides students with a major in mathematics within the framework of a broad-based general education as well as prepares students for certification in secondary mathematics. Students must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program in the College of Education and Human Services prior to enrolling in the professional education courses. Students must also meet the Student Teaching requirements of the College of Education and Human Services.

This program not only prepares students to teach in grades 7-12 but also allows them the flexibility of a B.S. in mathematics.

The graduate of this program will understand the learning processes and how to effectively facilitate mathematics learning in the middle and secondary grades.
