Langdale College Dean Elected to Beta Gamma Sigma Board

Dr. Kenneth L. Stanley, dean of Valdosta State University's Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration, was elected to a three-year term on the Beta Gamma Sigma Board of Governors.

?I consider this to be a great honor for VSU, the Langdale College, and me personally to be elected to the board,? stated Stanley. ?I look forward to the opportunity to meet and work with the fine people associated with Beta Gamma Sigma.?

Beta Gamma Sigma is a worldwide honor society founded in 1907 to promote and honor academic achievement in business in addition to fostering personal and professional excellence among its members. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest academic honor that students in business can achieve.

Valdosta State University's Beta Gamma Sigma was founded in 1982 when the business school first achieved accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Only business schools accredited by the AACSB International may have chapters of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Dr. Stanley was initiated into Beta Gamma Sigma in 1970 at Emory University. He later served as president of Emory University's local chapter prior to coming to Valdosta State in 1984.
