Senator h. c. Helmut Aurenz, Founder and President of ASBGreenworld, will speak at The Harley Langdale, Jr. Lecture Series
Senator h.c. Helmut Aurenz, receiver of the certificate of
honorary Senator by the University of Hohenheim, Germany, is the
featured speaker for Valdosta State University's Harley Langdale,
Jr. Lecture Series. As the founder and president of ASB Greenworld,
one of the world's largest producers of liquid fertilizers for use
in home gardening, Aurenz will lecture on the title, ?ASB
Greenworld: The Smart Fish Survive?.and Prosper!? The event will
take place on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Pound
Hall Auditorium located on Valdosta State University's Rea and
Lillian Steele North Campus.
In 1987, Aurenz received the ?Award of Merit of Germany? and in
1997 the ?Award of Merit First Class? in recognition of his major
contributions in business and politics. Aurenz established his
first potting soil mixing plant in Ludwigsburg, Germany in 1958. In
1967, after nine years of expansion and growth, the company's sales
reached one million Deutsch Marks. By 1981, ASB Greenworld had
entered French, Austrian, Canadian, and the US markets. In 1988,
the company purchased a cotton farm in Valdosta to construct a
7,500 square meter plant for the production and packaging of bark
products as well as flowering and planting soils. In the 90s,
the
company continued its expansion by building plants in Belgium,
England, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, and Estonia. Today, ASB
Greenworld is providing high quality professional gardening
products to professional growers and home gardeners throughout
Europe, North America, Asia, and Middle East.
The Harley Langdale, Jr. Lecture Series provides Valdosta State
University business students and the public an opportunity to hear
lectures on a wide range of business-related topics presented by
experts in their related fields. This series of lectures is another
step in the Langdale College of Business commitment to provide its
students with high quality education by broadening their horizons
and introducing them to real life experiences.
