VSU Housing Hosts Memorial for VA Tech
VALDOSTA - Valdosta State University’s resident assistants and
the Office of Housing and Residence life are hosting a memorial for
Virginia Tech at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20 on the university’s front
lawn.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the event to
honor the lives lost as well as survivors of the Virginia Tech
tragedy. Speakers will include Dr. Kurt Keppler, vice president for
Student Affairs and Dr. Thomas Hardy, Director of Housing and
Residence Life. A student directly connected with the situation
will speak as well.
Participants will have the opportunity to share stories, thoughts
and feelings on the traumatic event and flowers or candles will be
passed out in commemoration. Anyone interest in volunteering for

* VA Tech family members across the country have united to declare
this Friday and “Orange and Maroon Effect” day to honor those
killed in the tragic events on campus Monday, and to show support
for the VA Tech students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends.
Everyone across the country is invited to wear orange and maroon in
memory of those lost and in honor of those affected.
