SHRM Student Chapter Earns Superior Merit Award
VALDOSTA - The Valdosta State University Society for Human
Resource Management Student Chapter recently earned the Superior
Merit Award from the National Society for Human Resource Management
for the third year in a row.
This recognition is a result of the number and variety of
programming as well as leadership opportunities that the chapter
provides for its members. VSU SHRM chapter earned a total of 2310
points out of a possible 3300 this year, placing them in superior
ranks.
“I am very proud of the officers and members of our chapter,” Becky
Murphy, Chapter Advisor, said. “Each year, we increase our
activities and our chance to be recognized as top ten.”
Chapter president for the 2006-2007 year, Amanda King, lead the
award-winning group through the successful year.
“It was such an honor to serve our members this year. They are a
dedicated group and I know they will continue to succeed in the
future,” she said.
The Society for Human Resource Management has over 430 student
chapters and over 11,000 student members. Chapter activities,
programs and events allow students to learn more about Human
Resource Management, while building relationships with local
professionals and other students.
