Schloss to Host Cable Television Show
VALDOSTA -Valdosta State University launches a new television
program titled “More…with President Patrick J. Schloss.” The weekly
television show airs Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. on VSU-TV,
broadcasted locally on Mediacom channel 11.
The 30-minute program features Schloss as the host discussing a
variety of topics of interest to the campus and local community.
Guests will include students, faculty, and staff who are connected
to a particular project or event.
The first show airs on Oct. 7 and focuses on events surrounding
Hispanic Heritage month and the university’s involvement with local
Hispanic outreach programs. Guests include associate professors Dr.
Luis Bejarano and Dr. Susan Wehling and VSU student Slayton
Whatley. Additional episodes include:
• Oct. 14: Peach State Summer Theater (PSST), featuring Jackie
Wheeler, PSST artistic director and student actors Phillip Jones
and Chauntae Pink.
• Oct. 21: College Republicans and College Democrats, guests
include Dr. Cindy Tori and Dr. James LaPlant, faculty advisors for
the College Republicans and College Democrats, along with student
representatives Tim Wessinger and Ashley Hart.
• Oct. 28: Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) , featuring Dr. Wayne
Plumly, SIFE advisor, and Fletcher Ogletree, SIFE president, and
Nikki Mitchell, SIFE program director.
• Nov. 4: Valdosta Early College Academy (VECA), featuring Jeremiah
Finnissee and Claire McQuaid, VECA sixth graders, and Dr. Brian
Gerber, director of VSU’s Curriculum, Research and Technology; and
Ingrid Hall, principal of VECA.
New programs will be announced throughout the remainder of the
