Finalists Announced for Provost and V.P. for Academic Affairs
VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University has announced the names of four candidates for the position of provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. All finalists will participate in on-campus interviews with various groups. Members of the university and local community are invited to an open forum, where each candidate will give a brief presentation, followed by a time for questions.
Finalists:
Nov. 9-10: Dr. Roger McNeil, dean, College of Natural Sciences, California State University, Stanislaus
Nov. 11-12: Dr. Peg Gray-Vickrey, associate provost and associate vice president for Office of Curriculum & Instruction, Florida Gulf Coast University
Nov. 16 & 17: Dr. Bahman Ghorashi, dean, College of Engineering, Cleveland State University
Nov. 18 & 19: Dr. Phil Gunter, interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, Valdosta State University

Day 1
8:00-9:00 Breakfast with Search Committee
9:00-10:00 Tour of Campus Facilities
10:15-10:45 Open meeting with Student Government Association (SGA) and Students
11:00-12:00 Planning & Budget Committee and Cabinet
12:00-1:15 Lunch with Deans
1:30-2:45 Open forum for Faculty, Staff, and Students
(20 minute presentation responding to topics submitted to the applicant then Q&A)
3:00-3:30 Meeting with Provost Office Staff
3:30 - 4:30 Meeting with Direct Support Staff from the Division of Academic Affairs
4:45-5:30 Meeting with Council on Staff Affairs Members (COSA) and Staff Members
5:45 Dinner with President Schloss and vice presidents
Day 2
8:30-9:30 Breakfast with President Schloss, John Crawford, and the Foundation Board
9:45-10:45 Open meeting with Faculty Senate and Faculty
10:45-12:30 Tour of Valdosta
12:30:2:00 Lunch with Department Heads Council
2:00-3:30 Meeting with President Schloss -- President’s Office
4:00 Arrive at airport for return flight or back to hotel
