Eligibility

The Dual Enrollment Program at Valdosta State University is open to 11th and 12th grade students attending a public or private high school in Georgia or home study program operated in accordance with O.C.G.A. 20-2-690(c). The program is offered as part of the Georgia Dual Enrollment program at virtually no cost to the student or parents. Click here for admissions requirements.

High school students in the 10th grade attending a public or private high school in Georgia or home study program must meet Zell Miller testing requirements (minimum SAT scores of 1200 or minimum ACT score of 26 either in a single national test administration). Student that were in the 9th grade during the 2019-2020 school year and participated in Dual Enrollment, may enroll as 10th graders in any approved DE courses.

Cost

Students can earn college credit at no cost for tuition, mandatory fees, or books when taking dual enrollment-approved courses. Some minimal fees may apply for specific courses; i.e. labs, art supplies, etc. For more information on cost, click here.

Location

Depending on your high school or home school organization, classes may be taught on Valdosta State University's campus or at the high school. Currently, VSU faculty teach dual enrollment courses at Lowndes High School. We also offer courses being taught concurrently at Southland Academy. All other dual enrollment courses are taught on the Valdosta State campus.

High school GPA

Students must have a 3.0 GPA to participate in The Dual Enrollment Program. Grades earned in Valdosta State University Dual Enrollment Program courses will be reported to your student's high school for GPA purposes.

Do Dual Enrollment Program students have to live on campus?

No. Please note that on campus housing is NOT available for jointly enrolled students.

During which terms can Dual Enrollment Program students take courses?

Students may participate in the Dual Enrollment Program for all terms.

  • Fall, spring and summer semesters
  • Fall, winter, spring and summer quarters
