Dear General Business Degree Major:

This map is a sample term-by-term course schedule. The milestones listed below each term are designed to keep you on course to graduate in four years. Two sample schedules are provided as general guideline to help you build a full schedule each term (one includes summer semester matriculation and one does not).  The elective courses must be selected with your advisor to satisfy all core curriculum and state, lab science, and multicultural requirements.

A General Business Online Degree is a flexible academic program designed to give students a well-rounded understanding of business principles and practices. Perfect for students seeking broad business knowledge, this degree is ideal for those who want to explore multiple areas of business, keep their career options open, or build a strong foundation for further education like an MBA.

Unlike specialized business degrees, this program focuses on versatility, covering several key business areas and equipping students with a diverse skill set. Whether you're looking to enter the workforce directly or prepare for advanced studies, a general business degree is an excellent choice for building knowledge and confidence in the business world.

What You’ll Learn

The program offers a comprehensive education across various business disciplines, including:

  • Management: Learn to lead teams, make strategic decisions, and oversee operations effectively.
  • Marketing: Understand how to promote products or services and interpret consumer behavior.
  • Finance: Gain skills in managing money, investments, and financial planning.
  • Accounting: Develop expertise in tracking and reporting financial transactions.
  • Economics: Explore the principles that drive markets and business strategies.
  • Entrepreneurship: Acquire the knowledge and skills to start and manage your own business.

With appropriate planning, and maintenance of an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher, both the bachelor’s degree and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees can be completed in five years. MBA graduates are well-prepared for careers in any business enterprise.
